Packing Tips
Of course our number one tip is to allow the proffesional staff at Mail Plus pack your item for you. Keep in mind, if the items are not packed correctly, any damage claim to the carrier will be denied - no matter how much insurance you purchased!
The Box
Choose a box with enough room, at least 2", for cushioning material around the contents. If you are reusing a box, make sure that the box is free of creases, dents and holes. Cover all previous labels and markings with heavy black marker or adhesive labels.Cushioning
Place the cushioning all around your items. Close and shake the box to see whether you have enough cushioning. Add more styrofoam or bubble wrap if you hear items shifting.Sealing
Tape the opening of your box and reinforce all seams with 2” wide tape. Use clear or brown packaging tape, reinforced packing tape or paper tape. Do not use cord, string or twine because they get caught in mail processing equipment.Do not use brown paper to wrap your package. If it gets torn off by the processing equipment, there goes the delivery address!
